- Provide educational resources through both digital and physical exhibits that tell the stories of the Pride Movement and its profound impact on 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and communities across Canada.
WHO WE ARE?
- Document and preserve the histories of Pride events, milestones, and activists.
- Amplify the voices of those who have shaped the Pride Movement.
- Create accessible resources that inform, educate, and inspire people of all generations.
Why It Matters
Research Project
We meticulously document the history of Pride across Canada through volunteer teams that explore key figures, events, and regional narratives. Our findings are made publicly accessible through the Pride Information Management System (PIMS).
Our Oral History Project records interviews with individuals who have been integral to the Pride Movement in Canada. These stories will help to enrich our historical research and provide insight into the personal impact of Pride.
Launching in soon, our Virtual Exhibits provide an immersive experience exploring significant moments and influential figures in the Pride movement in Canada.
We are building a comprehensive online encyclopedia documenting Pride events across Canada. The Pride Wikipedia will include profiles of various Prides, showcasing their history, milestones, and key figures.
Education Project
We offer a comprehensive range of Lesson Plans and Educational Resources for educators, students, and the wider community. These resources help integrate pride history into curricula and cover diverse topics such as allyship, gender identity, and Two-Spirit perspectives. Our collection includes over 17 detailed, curriculum-aligned lesson plans, as well as additional resources designed to foster diversity, acceptance, and inclusivity. These resources are flexible, accessible, and continuously updated to meet emerging needs, making them valuable tools for promoting understanding across a wide audience.
